Use
and
Utilization
of
Manure

The main animal waste of our business is manure. In our large-scale production, the amount of manure generated is significant. Therefore, its use and utilization is among the most important topics for us.

More on Manure

The amount of manure produced by pig farms varies from one facility to another. The difference is defined by the different number and category of animals raised. Most often, the manure that is separated from our production includes a solid and liquid fraction.

  • The liquid fraction is stored in specially designated open lagoons for liquid manure. Several times a year, we organize tankers through which we spread the liquid fraction, thus contributing to the reduction of the use of artificial fertilizers.
  • Although the amount of manure produced varies during different seasons (winter/summer), as well as depending on the consumption of the animals and many other factors, usually the solid manure represents about 10% of the total amount of manure. It is richer in microelements (e.g. potassium, nitrogen, phosphorus) and undergoes a maturation process, after which part of it is transferred for utilization on agricultural lands. The use of manure from our farms replaces the use of artificial fertilizers and has environmental benefits.

We pass on

Currently, all pig farms have signed contracts with agricultural producers for the transfer of manure for fertilizing agricultural land. When carrying out fertilization, we strictly comply with the established rules for good agricultural practices and the provisions of the Nitrates Directive.
